ABOUT THE EVENT

Imagine dinosaurs, unicorns, sharks, chickens, aliens, and other larger-than-life creatures wobbling across the football field while a live band plays and the crowd cheers them on. That's the idea behind Creative Creatures Run For It—South Side Studios WV's playful twist on the Tucker Community Foundation's Run For It fundraiser!

We're proud to present this event in partnership with Grant Memorial Hospital, the Grant County Convention & Visitors Bureau, and the Partnerships in Health Initiative, celebrating the power of movement, creativity, and community to support healthier, more connected lives.

Join us on Sunday, August 30 at Petersburg's Viking Memorial Football Field for an afternoon of movement, music, community, and just the right amount of delightful chaos.

From 1:00 PM–4:30 PM, enjoy:

REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS

1️⃣ Visit South Side Studios WV's team page on the Run For It website or click the "Join Team South Side Studios WV" button above.

• • On the team page, click the "join" button and fill in the registration form.

  • In the "Choose your Event" section, choose either the Virtual 5K or Virtual 2K options. Make sure to select one of the virtual options if you are planning to join us on August 30th -  Pick one, even if you are just doing the "Wobble" It doesn't matter which one you select, because we will follow up with a form to collect details on exactly which events you want to participate in!   
    
    

2️⃣ After you register, we'll follow up with a short form asking exactly which activities you'd like to participate in—5K, 2K Walk, Individual Wobble, Creature Relay, Mini Monster Dash, or any combination!

3️⃣ Join us on Sunday, August 30!
Whether you're racing, walking, wobbling, volunteering, or cheering everyone on, we'd love to have you there. Spectators are welcome for a donation upon entrance (you choose the amount!)

Registration for the race costs $12.00. During registration, you will also have the opportunity to make an additional contribution to support South Side Studios WV's fundraiser. While the additional contribution is welcome, it is not required. Every registration and donation helps South Side Studios continue creating opportunities for artists, expanding access to the arts, and building a more creative, connected community.

ABOUT THE COSTUMES

"Wobble" participants should provide their own inflatable costume—but we don't want cost to keep anyone from joining the fun! If you'd like to participate and purchasing a costume isn't an option, send us an email at southsidestudioswv@gmail.com. Thanks to a few generous supporters, we'll have a limited number of inflatable costumes available to borrow.

Inflatable costumes can be found for between $25 - $45 on most online retailer sites. Here are some examples:

FULL AGENDA

1:00 PM: 5K Run & 2K Walk Check-In Opens

1:25 PM: Welcome Runners & Walkers

1:30 PM: 5K Run Begins followed shortly by the 2K Walk

2:30 PM: Creative Creature check-in begins and The Electric Petting Zoo band begins playing

3:00 PM

• Welcome back runners and walkers

• Creative Creatures gather at the Inflate Station

• "Creature Processional" and group photo

3:10 PM: Individual Creature Wobble (one lap around track in costumes)

3:25 PM: Creature Relay Wobble (teams of 4 one lap around track in costumes)

3:40 PM: Mini Monster Dash (kiddos in costume do a dash across the field)

3:50 PM: Awards Ceremony

4:00 PM: Community celebration

This is the very first Creative Creatures Run For It, and we're excited to kick off what we hope becomes a wonderfully quirky annual tradition. So grab your friends, choose your creature, and join Team South Side Studios WV!
